ALDERPERSON, 5TH WARD

ALDERPERSON, 5TH WARDALDERPERSON, 5TH WARD

Joseph often meets with residents.

Joseph is always eager to come visit neighbors, residents, or constituents. In January, he presented to the Park Ridge 20th Century Club as well as held open houses for those residents slated for alley improvement this year. Over the next few weeks, he will be meeting with several area HOAs to discuss the State of the City and the Uptown Master Plan. Reach out to invite him to visit with you and your neighbors!

Joseph often presents to local organizations and groups, whether listening to resident concerns or holding Question & Answer sessions focusing on local issues.

Joseph is a youth leader, always seeking to help mentor and develop youth to become more capable and confident as they are eventual inheritors of our community.

Joseph gives back to the community through participation in civic events, charitable causes, or fundraising events, especially those that support the most vulnerable among us.

Joseph always supports community events, whether as a volunteer, an organizer, or just a participant.  These community events serve as glue which binds us together.

Joseph graduated from Mary, Seat of Wisdom back in 1990. And then in 2007, Joseph and his wife were married there.

Joseph is always happy to visit with residents, share a meal or drink, and listen to concerns or suggestions as to how we can Park Ridge even better.

Joseph enjoys being out in the community, whether at formal or informal functions, always accessible to his neighbors and fellow residents.

Joseph is always happy to facilitate youth learning about their community and especially the local government.

Joseph is proud to have been recognized as a Park Ridge Community Star, a community  member dedicated to making our City even better through his service.

Joseph (a 1994 graduate of Maine South) and his wife raise their four children here in Park Ridge.

Joseph continues to serve his community.

Bingo Buddies

Joseph has organized a monthly Bingo Buddies event at The Summit of Uptown, where Park Ridge youth and elderly residents play Bingo, enjoy hot chocolate & cookies, and get to know one another. This experience strengthens the bonds within our community.

Cub Scouts

Joseph has long-served as a Cub Scout leader where he seeks to mentor youth and build their life skills and confidence through the Scouting path. As a Marine, a college professor, a public defender, a state's attorney, and a parent, Joseph is convinced that mentoring youth is the most important investment we can make.

Forest Clean-Up

Having lived in or travelled to 57 countries, Joseph has seen firsthand the dangers of unbridled pollution and environmental damage. We are only borrowing this earth for a few decades and, to use a scouting adage, we should leave it in better condition than when we arrived. In 2020, Joseph founded a  semiannual Forest Preserve Clean-Up event where thousands of community volunteers come out to cl

Since 2022, Joseph has served as the Chair of the Memorial Day Parade, an annual community event inviting over 14,000 spectators and hosting over 2,000 parade participants including active duty United States military units.

Snow Shoveling for Seniors

Joseph organized and coordinates the annual City-wide Snow Shoveling for Seniors service project where hundreds of Park Ridge youth look out for our elderly residents by shoveling their sidewalks, front walkways, and a path to the garbage cans. The youth also clear any snow around fire hydrants to ensure that the fire department has access in an emergency.  By looking out for our neighbors, we g

Roosevelt VShow

In 2020, during the midst of the COVID pandemic, the Roosevelt Elementary V-Show was in danger of cancellation, thereby breaking an annual tradition that had continued for a half century and also depriving an entire 5th grade class of their culminating event. Without any background (or talent) in the arts, Joseph stepped forward to produce the Roosevelt V-Show with determination that the show wo
